The Attorneys at Danziger& De Llano are still able to file on your behalf.

Danziger& De Llano, a personal injury law firm that has devoted its entire practice to helping those whose lives have been impacted by the negligence and carelessness of others, is currently filing lawsuits against the manufacturers of transvaginal mesh products that have hurt women.

The mesh, which was originally designed to help hernia patients, has been used for the purpose of supporting the pelvic organs in women who suffer from pelvic organ prolapse or incontinence. But the product has proven to be extremely dangerous when implanted in the vagina, causing serious health conditions including bleeding, infections, pain during intercourse and perforation of the vaginal wall.

“A lot of people think that they’ve run out of time to file a lawsuit against the manufacturers of transvaginal mesh, but that is not the case,” said Paul Danziger. “These products are causing incredible pain and suffering to women who innocently trusted that they would be safe, and with the manufacturers continuing to promote them, our law firm will continue to pursue justice on behalf of those who are injured.”

When mesh was first used in hernia operations, it provided an effective surgical answer that cut down on recovery time, and its inventors thought that it would have the same impact for women suffering pelvic organ prolapse, a common condition that comes with age, particularly after childbearing.

But the manufacturers did not do sufficient testing on the product, which has been found to behave differently within the vaginal wall. Tissue grows into the mesh and becomes nearly impossible to extricate, and the mesh has been known to perforate the wall of the organ and those around it. Patients have required multiple surgeries to remove the devices, and have suffered tremendous pain.

Warnings have been issued by the Food and Drug Administration regarding the transvaginal mesh product on a number of occasions over the last few years. In 2008 the FDA listed a number of side effects that consumers needed to be aware of, while in 2011 another warning was issued advising both physicians and their patients that the procedure carried greater risks than other available treatments. These reports were issued as a result of thousands of patients reporting having suffered injuries.

Transvaginal mesh products continue to be marketed by a number of medical device manufacturers, and as a result women continue to be hurt. The attorneys at Danziger& De Llano will help victims file a lawsuit and recover expenses as a result of this dangerous product.
