Each year, more than 47,000 deaths in Canada are linked to substance abuse. Additionally, in any given year, one out of every five Canadians will experience an addiction or mental health problem. The prevalence of mental health issues has been linked to substance abuse, with many individuals receiving a dual-diagnosis.To help more people in the area, Trafalgar Addiction Treatment Centres is proud to announce the opening of a new campus at the Trafalgar East Addiction Treatment Centre. This campus offers traditional treatment programs, along with daily activities, such as yoga and fitness.
“The commute that has been integrated into our treatment approach at the newly opened East rehab facility offers a new dimension to traditional types of treatment,” stated company representative Angie Beninato. “This program helps to instill an additional degree of structure, variety and even discipline into our patient’s lives. We have found the approach to treatment provided by this facility is much more appealing and allows those recovering from an addiction to learn how to cope with the day to day routines and challenges in their normal lives. This program ensures our clients are prepared for leading an addiction-free life once they leave the structure of rehab.”
The treatment program at the Trafalgar Residential Addiction Treatment Facility is designed to mimic the routine of normal life, after therapy. Each day, after the activities, patients are taken back to the East Residence to have dinner and sleep.
“It is important to note that our clients will receive treatment and programming at the Port Hope Campus, but even while at the East residence, they will be under the constant monitoring of the clinical team,” continued Beninato. “This also means they will always have access to our counselors and therapists, and even medical help, throughout the day.”
