Walking down a coffee section of a grocery store or shopping for coffee online can be quite overwhelming. There are many different brands, roasts, and grinds for customers to choose from. Taking all the brand names out of the equation, the type of roast, typically a medium or dark, will drastically change the flavor of the coffee. Square Cottage plans to run a survey to see if people prefer the taste of a medium roast or a dark roast coffee.Square Cottage expects to run the survey for about a week. To optimize results, participants will try a variety of different coffees but will not be told the brand name or the type of roast. After each tasting, participants will be asked a few questions and will record their opinions.
Square Cottage will be using a french press coffee maker to make the coffee and the coffee will have a coarse grind. A coarse grind is typically the best grind when using a french press. Square Cottage hopes to see users come out with a clear preference.
The Square Cottage french press that will be used in this survey was also designed to be a high quality cold brew coffee maker. Cold brew has become quite popular lately and has a unique taste that is different than your regular hot or iced coffee.
