Students from 13 local primary schools are putting their creativity on show at the Silver Star Motors Pedal Car Design Challenge Exhibition (November 5th - 15th) and schools are in the running to win one of two $3,000 school grants.The Exhibition forms the final stage of the inaugural Silver Star Motors Pedal Car Design Challenge, which has seen local primary schools design, decorate and transform a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Pedal Car into the Mercedes-Benz of their dreams for a chance to win a financial grant.
The local community is being encouraged to visit the Exhibition from Thursday November 5 to Sunday November 15 at Silver Star Motors, 835 Doncaster Road and vote for their favourite designs. The two designs that receive the most votes will be recognised with the ‘People’s Choice Award’, co-presented by Silver Star Motors and Mercedes-Benz Finance, and will each walk away with a $3,000 school grant.
The unique local initiative has allowed students to flex their design muscles, test their imagination and work as a team, and the results are inspiring; rainbow creations, pirate ships, psychedelic throwbacks and modern innovation are just a teaser into what is on show.
Wednesday November 4th saw Birralee Primary School and Croydon Hills Primary each take home the ‘Creativity and Design Innovation’ award along with a $3,000 school grant. The schools were chosen by an esteemed panel of judges for their unique interpretations of the Mercedes Benz design philosophy ‘excellence in design.’
The official Silver Star Motors Pedal Car Design Challenge exhibition will play host to 13 local primary schools' unique Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Pedal Cars. The exhibition is free and will run over 10-days at Silver Star Motors Doncaster.

Hours: Visitors are invited to view the exhibition during the showroom’s opening hours. Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm / Saturday 8.30am to 5.00pm. The exhibition will be showcased in the front window of the Silver Star Motors Doncaster showroom and can be viewed at any time day or night.
