Shore Office Warehouse, a division of Shore Total Office and the largest San Diego office furniture store, is happy to announce the recent hire of Michael Mims, the company’s Senior Safety Manager. As a safety professional with vast experience in occupational safety and health management, Michael Mims will be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing of all company stakeholders.Michael Mims holds a 3115 Trainer degree from the University of California, San Diego. He boasts a degree in Environmental Safety & Health Management from the Cuyamaca College, San Diego. Mims also obtained the OSHA 510 certification for OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry at the Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Throughout his career, Mims has applied federal OSHA policies, procedures and construction2 standards to ensure the safety and health management for over 20 contractors across six states. He has managed over 400 employees on more than 80 sites, ranging from ground up high rise and solar farms to TI remodels. Given his experience and background, Mims has a proven ability to design, direct and implement effective OSHA defense and job safety workplace programs. He also has considerable experience in claims management.
In addition to OSHA 510 certification, Mims boasts OSHA 30 certification, as well as Competent Person Fall Protection, Competent Person Excavation and Trenching, Competent Person Scaffolding, Competent Person Confined Spaces, and Qualified Rigger and Hand Signal Person certifications. He has completed several courses including: EM 385-1-1 40-Hour course and EM385-1-1 24-hour course, Crosby API Rigging Training Development & Communication System, CPR, AED 1st Aid Training and was awarded Qualified Arc Flash NFPA 70E.
Mims is also bilingual in English and Spanish.
