Sharkey's Cuts for Kids is one of the most recognized hair salons in the country. Typically, children hate doing anything that doesn't involve playing games or having fun. This makes it hard for parents to get them to sit still during haircut appointments. It will be located on Wescott Ave, and there are plenty of things for children to enjoy. Unlike regular salons, customers get to sit in special chairs. This includes sports cars, Barbie jeeps, and other vehicles from famous children's films. Alongside this, there are TV screens in front of every seat. So, the children get to watch their favorite shows while their hair gets cut and styled. This addresses the key problem with kids not being able to sit still for an extended period. It's seen as a distraction tactic, and it's proven to work.
Sharkey's state that the Sugar Land branch is suitable for older kids as well. They've kitted it out with big TV screens and a variety of games consoles. So, while they wait, the kids can play lots of video games like Fortnite or Apex Legends. There's even a tween lounge for children entering their teenage years, and it includes lots of fun features to provide them with a glamorous experience.
Hair salon owner's up and down the country have been trying to figure out new and inventive ways to capture the attention of their younger customers. It seems that Sharkey's have managed to do this, and the CEO and Founder of the company - Scott Sharkey - is very excited about what they've achieved so far. Speaking to the media, he stated that "our vision was to create an environment where parents and kids could be comfortable and pampered while receiving excellent haircuts".
That seems to be the key with Sharkey's; the extra features are great, but the overall haircut experience still needs to be the best. Clearly, the company is doing something right as they've been voted the Top Kids Salon Franchise for 2016, 2017, and 2018.
With the introduction of Sharkey's Sugar Land, it seems as though the business will continue to grow and provide parents and children with a hair salon service like no other. Other companies in the industry should take note as Sharkey's seems to have found the perfect blend between extra entertainment and excellent core service.
