The Vietnam War is one of the most popular and life-changing events in history. Like any other event of such significance, there are different stories and sides to the war. Regardless of the side of the fence one sits on, the impact of the war on the lives of people during and after the war cannot be ignored. Rev. Peter is consequently telling the story from a fresh angle as he weaves two different perspectives into one to give a detailed yet interesting read in "Living for a Higher Purpose."

The book is particularly as it talks about how a young boy was able to survive the war, overcome adversity by living for others and Jesus, looking at the Vietnam War story from a religious yet captivating angle. The book also talks about looking for life purpose & hope in this world of darkness and challenges.

In "Living for a Higher Purpose," the priest guides readers through the many stories of Viet's life and eventually helps reveal a higher purpose. The author also covers many topics of current and popular discourse such as war and its victims, refugees and their life challenges, life under a Communist regime, core curriculum, how the world views America, and the relationship between Catholicism (Christianity) and Buddhism.
