PPC Industries is pleased to announce that Georgia Renewable Power in Colbert, Georgia, the location of one of Georgia's newest renewable fuel power generation plants, is in the final months of construction. PPC Industries executed the contract for supply and construction of the air pollution control equipment with MasTec Power Corp, the EPC contractor for Georgia Renewable Power LLC, in Fall of 2017.The 58-megawatt facility will utilize biomass boilers burning renewable fuels such as tree bark, wood chips as well as other biomass sources. The combustion process produces compounds and ash whose limits are regulated by the EPA, thus requiring air pollution control equipment to remove those pollutants before releasing the flue gases to the atmosphere. The air pollution control system provided by PPC Industries for this project is designed to remove particulate, both PM10 and PM2.5, as well as nitrous oxide compounds (NOx) and carbon monoxide (CO) using a Electrostatic Precipitator followed by CO oxidation catalyst and a SCR. Utilizing over 40 truckloads more than 400 tons of fabricated steel components and equipment have been delivered to the job site since April 1, 2018.
