Here are a few of its most popular tips from the company’s home energy advisors:1. Install a programmable thermostat (it may be available at no cost during a home energy assessment, depending on where the homeowner lives) to save up to 15% on overall energy costs.
2. Use window shades and drapery to keep out the radiant heat during hot days, open them in winter to bring heat into the home.
3. Change out bulbs to high-efficiency ones, such as CFLs or LEDs to save up to 75% on energy used for lighting in the home.
