Summary: Love & Autism announces their 5th annual event featuring 100% autistic representation on the main stage, music, art, special events and more.

Love & Autism started as a conference to discuss relationships and autism, and to prevent misinformation about autism from being spread. The core mission of the conference is to support the development of fulfilling relationships regardless of age or type of relationship.

In the upcoming 2018 conference, Love & Autism will feature 100% autistic representation on the main stage. There will be a total of 15 main stage presenters, 4 main stage performers, and over 15+ breakout sessions across 4 unique conference tracks. In addition, accommodations are designed to create safe autistic space throughout the entire experience.

The annual conference is hosted by a group of clinicians and support staff that manage their personal workloads in addition to working at the conference. From connecting with speakers to designing the event and planning conference tracks, everything is done by a passionate group of individuals that seek social change in autism.

Love & Autism is designed not just for self-advocates, but parents, therapists, teachers and also practitioners to help them understand autism and relationships. Be it the relationship between parents and their autistic children, work colleagues or even romantic partners, Love & Autism aims to educate, inspire and connect.

“This conference was amazing. I learned so much I could use as a parent and a professional. I’m leaving inspired and renewed.”
Aisha Pope,
Parent, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Roots & Wings Consulting

Love & Autism follows a clear set of values when selecting speakers and sharing ideas, such as choosing neurodivergent leaders as guides and rejecting the pathology paradigm and coercive treatments. Love & Autism also vows to value and see all autistic individuals, while calling out bad ideas that go against their mission in order to develop healthy autistic identities.

To provide a personalized visitor experience and suit different needs, Love & Autism has four breakout tracks:

Do - This track will have participants try, create and explore new ideas for personal and family growth.
Learn - Experienced guides will provide practical ideas, tips and solutions on issues that are important to you.
Connect - A track designed to create a safe space for meaningful dialogue with the aim of creating a deeper sense of connection.
Belong - Designed for autistic teens, this 2-day small group track helps to grow and discuss experiences related to belonging, authenticity and self-love.

The 2018 Love & Autism Conference will be taking place October 13-14th, 2018 from 9:00 AM till 4:30 PM at the Liberty Station Conference Center in San Diego, CA.
