When asked to comment, he said, “A lot of people think that they won’t get into an accident. But if you look at the numbers, 77% of people will get into an accident. And when they do, their adrenaline is coursing through their veins from the initial impact and getting medical attention is the furthest thing from their mind."

In the normal course of events after an accident, Sprenz emphasized that most people will mostly feel ok aside from a bit of stiffness and pain. They’ll then wake up the next morning with whole body aches.

"In this case, people are uncertain as to what they should do – if they go to the doctor, call the insurance company, or wait a couple of days until the soreness goes away, which is something they would normally do when feeling that same soreness after working out at the gym," he added

However, not getting immediate medical attention after an accident can be detrimental to a personal injury case.

When asked to elaborate, Sprenz said, "The main thing is that you're a victim in this case. You didn't do anything wrong, so you should get checked out within a couple of days. If you don't, the insurance company will do whatever they can to try to not pay on the claim."

“Insurance companies are in the business of making money, not paying it out. If you don’t get checked out right away, the insurance company will say, ‘if you were really hurting, then you would have gone to the doctor.'"

One of the reasons that car crash victims put treatment on the backburner is that they are unsure which doctors to go to or how to pay for medical bills.

"In Vegas, a lot of times when a doctor knows that you've been in a car accident, they won't treat you. So, you have to find certain doctors that will look at you. If you don't have health insurance, there are doctors out there who can treat you on the lien. This means that they’ll provide you the treatment you need to get better and, at the end of the case, those doctors will get paid back,” he said.

Sprenz mentioned that a personal injury attorney can further point someone in the right direction of medical professionals who can tend to the injury.

"That's why it's important to be able to get an attorney who understands the area, knows which doctors will treat car accident victims, and works with certain insurance companies. If you've been the victim in an accident and don't know who to turn to, then contact a seasoned personal injury attorney immediately to get the best possible outcome for your case," he said.
