This August, The Kompound Training Center Competition Team performed exceptionally well at the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation's World Masters and Las Vegas Open tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada by winning several medals in multiple divisions. Led by Professor Brad Nicolarsen, the team once again showed that they are competing and winning at the highest level around the world. Shane O'Neill - Masters 7 Brown Belt - Double Gold Medalist
Sharicka Long-O' Neill - Masters 3 Brown Belt - Gold and Silver Medalist
Kimberly Botkins Almirez - Masters 4 Brown Belt - Gold Medalist
Stephanie Linkus - Masters 2 Purple Belt - Double Bronze Medalist
Michael Clark - Masters 4 Purple Belt - Bronze Medalist
Steve Shearon - Masters 6 Purple Belt - Gold Medalist
Katie Roche - Adult Blue Belt - Bronze Medalist
Rhyan Diller - Adult White Belt - Bronze Medalist
Other stand-out performances were by high level black belts “Big” Mike Nickels and Mike Martin both showing amazing technique and skill despite via referee’s misplaced decision. Purple Belt Steven Fletcher had one of his best showings battling to the quarter-finals. Mike Munoz had a great Blue Belt showing and looking forward to seeing him take Gold next year. Andrès Munoz had a great battle in the Las Vegas Open.
On the recent success of the team’s success, Professor Brad said “I could not be more proud of this team. They put in the work and the results speak for themselves. We are looking forward to another great year of training and preparing for the 2020 competition season.”
