Alison Levine conquered Everest in a pioneering feat that put her name in the history books, but now the adventurer and best-selling author is helping entrepreneurs get a firm footing on extreme leadership skills. Future business leaders and change-makers will be meeting Alison, who captained America’s first all-women Everest expedition, at a METal International COED event, to be hosted by Nextist and motivational broadcaster Ken Rutkowski in Los Angeles.In her talk, On the Edge: The Art of High-Impact Leadership, Alison will explain how leadership concepts applied in extreme sports can be utilized to work in highly competitive business environments. She believes the same leadership principles she applied in life-or-death situations on Everest can be used to help entrepreneurs achieve their full potential in demanding marketplaces - and teach them unconventional concepts they could never learn in a business environment.
As well as conquering Everest, Alison has climbed the Seven Summits and skied to both the North and South Poles. She has had to make smart decisions, with no room for error, in the most challenging environments on Earth. Lives have depended on the former part-time West Point faculty member’s leadership skills, and she knows what it takes to steer people through the toughest situations and triumph. Her book, On the Edge: Leadership Lessons from Everest and Other Extreme Environments, made the New York Times’ best-seller list.
Entrepreneur Mr Rutkowski, who has mentored some of the world’s leading innovators, says Alison is a high-profile thinker whose skills and leadership ideas have the potential to transform the way business minds work.
