Anti-aging super site Agein.com is releasing is response to the results of a small-scale study, which found evidence that making healthy lifestyle choices can promote anti-aging and combat diseases by making positive changes in the body.

Agein.com, the Internet’s premier anti-aging web site focusing on anti-aging tips, news, and advice from some of the foremost experts in the industry, is releasing its response to a groundbreaking study that shows positive lifestyle changes can fight aging on a cellular level.

A recent study out of the University of California in San Francisco confirms that a healthy lifestyle helps the body fight, and even reverse aging and age-related diseases on a cellular level. The small but statistically significant five-year study was based on a vegetarian diet, moderate daily exercise, yoga-based relaxation, and stress management regimen. “The researchers found that the healthy lifestyle changes impact aging and age-related diseases on a cellular level by increasing the life of telomeres. Telomeres, the protective caps at the end of chromosomes, prevent the loss of genetic information during cell division,” says Laura Foreman, Agein.com’s Anti-Aging Life Coach. “As we get older, our cells divide and telomeres get shorter and shorter. Shorter telomeres have been linked with a variety of age-related diseases, including heart disease and a number of cancers.”

Before the study, researchers questioned whether the process of fraying telomeres is inevitable, or if it can be stopped or even reversed. This most recent research suggests that healthy lifestyle changes can lengthen telomeres. Among the 10 men with low-risk prostate cancer that followed the lifestyle changes, telomere length increase significantly by an average of 10%. The 25 men in the control group that were asked not to make any lifestyle changes saw telomere length decrease by an average of three percent.

“If these same results are validated by larger-scale trials, we will have definitive proof that healthy lifestyle choices can reverse the effects of aging at the cellular level,” Foreman adds.” “At the same time, the experts at Agein.com understand that there is no magic formula that will reverse the aging process entirely.” However, she believes there are a number of healthy lifestyle choices everyone can follow, such as dieting, exercise, meditation, and being surrounded by supportive family and friends, which will help them live healthier lives and age more gracefully.
