The Charleston-based law firm of Thurmond, Kirchner & Timbes, P.A. has announced the opening of a new office in Aiken, South Carolina.The new office located downtown Aiken at 210 Newberry Street NW, will offer legal representation in the practice areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, criminal defense and DUI defense. In addition, the office will provide legal consultation in the areas of civil litigation, business litigation, construction law and homeowner association law.
Founding partner Paul Thurmond, a native of Aiken, said, “As I have gotten older, I have grown to appreciate my childhood experience in Aiken more and more. It provided a safe environment with wonderful, lifelong friends. It wasn’t filled with a hustle of a big city, but more about a place that you could truly get to know your neighbors and were familiar with people on a more personal, sincere level. Establishing an office in Aiken has long been something I wanted to do, and the timing was right for the firm to do so."
Kirchner, also an Aiken native said, “I am extremely excited about coming home and opening our new office in Aiken, SC. It is incredibly fulfilling to me to have the opportunity to make a difference in the community where I was raised and my family still resides. As a law firm and an employer, we are fully committed to the community and are grateful for being welcomed home with open arms.”
Founded in 2005 by three friends from law school, Paul Thurmond, Jesse Kirchner and Michael Timbes, the firm has grown to include 11 lawyers and 15 support staff. Thurmond has won professional recognition, including a prestigious Leadership in Law award in February 2017 and in 2016 he received the Compleat Lawyer Award. The Compleat Lawyer Award is USC School of Law’s highest recognition of professional achievement and civic leadership by the school’s alumni. Kirchner was awarded AWR Court Reporting Litigator of the Year in 2014. Timbes, Thurmond, and Kirchner have been recognized as South Carolina Super Lawyers. Local attorney and Edgefield native, Kevin Molony, was hired as of counsel for their Aiken office.
