As a result, the youth of today must prepare themselves for the future by understanding the human-centered applications of technology and design. Opportunities to study these disciplines are still rare, however, and available only to a privileged elite. A founder at The Ordinary Life, Trevor Freeman, wanted to make these skills more accessible, and has donated a 3D printer to the charity Youthbuild to help make that a reality.Youthbuild provides education, counseling and job skills to unemployed young adults, including a large number of high school dropouts. The charity aims to upskill these individuals and make them more employable in today’s market. Trevor Freeman understood the power and potential of 3D printing for design, fabrication, prototyping, and many other applications, and saw the benefit to these at-risk youths.
Trevor Freeman's charity donation will enable Youthbuild to offer training on more advanced courses than ever, opening up possibilities for young people by developing future-proof career skills. The Ordinary Life helps people understand the world from a different perspective, and can now broaden the horizons of a whole new group of people.

This tool is quite expensive and not usually accessible to disadvantaged young people.
