Donna Fullerton, owner of an online photo gallery was honored to be part of a group of fifteen photographers who took part of an exclusive National Geographic photo event. The group was able to participate in the Yellowstone National Park photo walk which honors the centennial year of the National Park Service. The group includes National Geographic photographer Charlie Hamilton James and several other NG editors. They will walk through selected areas of the Park in order to photograph wildlife and scenery in the first national park.According to landscape photography professional Fullerton, “Being associated with National Geographic is not just an item on my bucket list, it is THE bucket list. It is a tremendous honor and opportunity for me to have been selected to participate in this event. I believe my selection may be tied to a photo I took of Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley. National Geographic featured that image on my profile which appeared on the Your Shot feature.
Another honor was according to Fullerton in 2015. Her landscape photo art of the Colorado National Monument was used at the cover photo on Eastern National's “America's National Parks—A Photographic Journey Through Nearly 400 National Treasures” book. The volume was released to commemorate one hundred years of the National Park Service.
The visit organized by National Geographic occurred on May 24 and 25. The landscape images which the photographers capture are an opportunity to portray the look of Yellowstone National Park in the Spring season. This was Donna's first trip to the Park during this season of the year.
Donna Fullerton's interest in art has evolved over the years. She is trained in piano, dance, flute and art from early childhood. She has lived in several different countries and experienced life in different cultures. She and her husband Steve make their home in the Colorado community of Grand Junction.
