One new addition to the Claire Davies Interiors team, is Michael Halpin. This is part of the company’s efforts to inspire other businesses to offer work placements to qualified young people. Company founder and owner Claire Davies offered a work placement to Michael Halpin after being approached by Standguide Training and Recruitment, who on behalf of the DWP, offer the Young Persons Supported Work Experience (YPSWE), which provides voluntary work experience to young people aged 18 – 24.
As a young graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University, Michael Halpin has found it difficult to find work without experience. Working with Claire Davies Interiors is thus a valuable opportunity for him to acquire much-needed practical experience and skills in the industry.
Ms. Davies said: “I’m glad that I’ll be able to support Michael through this work experience programme. It’ll be truly invaluable for him as it’s exactly what he wants to do in the future and will build his confidence. It’s a testament to his perseverance and he should be very proud of himself for pursuing his dream career, despite the obstacles.”
