Win Chevrolet proudly announces they are partnering with the American Cancer Society to make strides against breast cancer. This is the seventh year the dealership has partnered with the society and they have contributed almost $8 million to this cause to help with screening, patient care and research. One in eight women are diagnosed with this type of cancer, thus more needs to be done. The dealership is committed to doing everything possible to overcome this disease."Individuals can join in the effort by taking part in a walk, contributing to the campaign or establishing an #IDriveFor team. For every team that is established on Twitter and Instagram, the dealership contributes $5 to the American Cancer Society. Women need to be proactive to detect this cancer at an early stage. Every woman should be doing self-exams and seeing their doctor for regular checkups. Now is the time to schedule a screening and learn more about what to watch for with regard to this type of cancer. Early detection significantly increases the odds of survival, thus knowledge is very powerful.
"Tests, such as mammograms, can find breast cancer years before any symptoms develop. Yearly visits to the doctor should begin at an early age, with yearly mammograms starting at 45 for women at average risk of breast cancer. Those who have been identified as high risk, such as those with the BRCA gene, will need to begin yearly mammograms earlier. A doctor is the best person to determine when a woman should be screened and how often," Hazem continues.
