Hilton Garden Inn Tinley Park donated one of their original shuttles from 14 years ago to Wheels For Wishes. The proceeds from donations to Wheels For Wishes benefit Make-A-Wish Illinois, helping to make dreams come true for local children facing critical illnesses.

Wheels For Wishes auctioned Shelley the Shuttle after the donation. The bidding war for the shuttle was between buyers from six different states and two countries. In the end, the 14-year-old shuttle sold for $3,650, and the Hilton Garden Inn Tinley Park replaced it with a new shuttle. This vehicle was going to be upgraded anyway, so the fact that it was donated for so much goes to show how impactful car donation to Wheels For Wishes can be for local children. Angie Leasure, the hotel s director of sales, experienced Make-A-Wish s impact when her stepson, Dylan, was granted a wish. Supporting Make-A-Wish through donations to Wheels For Wishes meant even more because of that fact.
I feel like I will never be able to repay Make-A-Wish for everything they did for Dylan and all of us but I will continue to try through donations and volunteering whenever possible, Leasure said. I would also like to thank Hilton Garden Inn and our management company for choosing Wheels for Wishes to donate our old buddy Shelly the Shuttle.
The donors set a precedent for donating aging company vehicles to benefit kids in the community through Wheels For Wishes. A 14-year-old vehicle, no longer worth much to the donor, was worth a significant amount to Wheels for Wishes and ultimately, Make-A-Wish Illinois and the children they benefit.
