One of Kelowna’s longest-operating marketing agencies formally rebranded as Sayvee at the beginning of this year. Operating under the name Moving Pixel Productions since its formation in 1999, the marketing company now known as Sayvee brings a depth of knowledge to its marketing and web design services that is rarely seen in Kelowna.
At the company’s birth, Moving Pixel — so-named for the pixels that make up a computer screen — focused on web hosting and development, a then-revolutionary niche in which the name represented a logical connection between the company and the services it offered. Now nearly two decades on, Sayvee has become a veritable marketing powerhouse, having added a full complement of web development, design, advertising, and digital marketing services to its portfolio, signalling the need for a name that better represented the company’s purpose.
The decision to forgo the name that had served the company so well for 17 years was a long and difficult one, but ultimately it was determined a new name would better represent the scope of services the company has grown to offer. Further, the company wanted a name that would better align with its mission to build empowered, educated clients, an ethos born out of those years of experience and one which clearly set them apart from the competitors in the Kelowna marketing scene. From long internal discussions, Sayvee, a word which represents both communication and education, was born, along with the mission statement, “Simply Stated, Sayvee Serves Savvyy Clients”.
Steve Devries, Sayvee’s Founder and CEO spoke about the recent rebrand, expanding on some of the decisions and motivations that led the business to make this decision. “When Sayvee was founded as Moving Pixel back in 1999, the internet was a very different place,” Devries noted. “Having been in this industry for so many years, we have had the unique advantage of watching the digital landscape grow and change radically, so not only do we have decades of experience, we also know exactly what digital marketing requires in the modern age.”
Beyond the company’s impressively long track record of success, what sets Sayvee apart is dedication to informing their clients about the digital marketing process, what it entails, how to measure it, and what good results look like. Devries elaborated, saying “We feel it is important to share our wealth of knowledge with our clients, and make sure they have a good foundational understanding of the work we do for them. Some marketing companies would rather keep their clients in the dark so they ask fewer questions about the work being performed, but that has never, ever been what Sayvee is about.”
With the name change under their belt, Sayvee plans to maintain their position at the forefront of digital marketing and will continue sharing their vast knowledge with the clients they serve.
