Building Constructive Solutions takes CQM Certification around the World to North America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Western Pacific Region

Building Constructive Solutions (BCS) brings CQM Certification classes to contractors anywhere in the World where key quality control personnel require certification to work on US federal construction contracts.

BCS is authorized by the Norfolk District of the Corps of Engineers and NAVFAC MIDLANT to teach the approved curriculum. The certificate provided after successful completion of the course is accepted worldwide by the Corps of Engineers (COE) and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC).

More information about the BCS CQM private course offering is available at https://cqmcert.com.

BCS provides facilitators for Construction Quality Management (Corps of Engineers Prospect #784) classes to any accessible destination. For example, BCS has conducted certification classes to Djibouti, Africa four times. BCS plans to expand into West Africa and the Western Pacific region (for example, Guam and Hawaii) and remains available for classes in Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, and Puerto Rico.

Construction contractors find that having courses in their own locations is more cost-effective than sending individual personnel to off-site sponsored classes. By regularly scheduling BCS-facilitated classes during orientation periods for new hires or refresher training for long term employees, companies can keep quality control personnel focused on construction projects while also minimizing travel time and expense.

As an added benefit, BCS tailors class discussion to each contractor’s project emphasis, while still conforming to the approved curriculum.

During the Covid-19 crisis, BCS has continued giving CQM Certification classes, while publicly-sponsored classes were shut down. According to a spokesperson for BCS, “US government construction contracts continue to move forward, so contractors must enable their personnel to obtain CQM certification. As long as the pandemic poses the threat of infection, we continue to follow best practices for social distancing, disinfecting surfaces, and utilizing personal protective equipment. We do everything possible to keep participants safe from COVID-19.”

Although contractors sometimes seek online CQM certification courses, the Corps of Engineers has not generally approved online courses. According to a spokesperson for BCS, “CQM certification is awarded after participants pass a test at the end of the class. The Corps of Engineers holds each facilitator accountable for keeping the tests and specific answers out of public circulation. We cannot properly proctor the certification exam if distributed for online class offerings.”
