Robots are truly conquering the world, or at least the workplace, helping people find solutions to pressing problems such as climate change, energy, health care, education, transportation, agriculture, the environment, and more.

The Robotics Micromasters training program was developed by EdX in a collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. Students can discover a wide range of robotics topics in the online course.

This is a self-paced 12-week long program that enables students to acquire practical skills in building and programming legged robots and designing robotic systems. Graduates from the program can apply to the accelerated Master of Science in Engineering in Robotics degree program at the University of Pennsylvania and further expand their career opportunities. Once accepted, they will be eligible for the Micromasters’ certificate as their completed course would count for 3 out of the 10 required courses for the on-campus M.S.E in Robotics program.

The Robotics training program features four different courses: Kinematics & Mathematical Foundations; Visual Intelligence & Machine Learning; Dynamics and Control; Locomotion Engineering.

Students can learn how to solve fundamental problems in robotics by applying mathematical concepts. They will discover strategies for getting a computer to act without being explicitly programmed. Students will also acquire practical skills on how bioinspired robots navigate in unstructured environments and explore in-depth many machine-learning concepts.

This advanced course trains students almost everything related to Robotics, using language, formulating original ideas and more. Facilitators of the course are world-renowned experts in the field.
