Dede Reelia Kouevi Anani seeks to take center stage at the upcoming Afromaha Fashion Week as her jewelry brand, Unique By Reelia, launches a new collection to the world. It has been over seven years of sheer determination and creativity. Reelia started the brand with $1 and faith in God in 2013 in New York as a college student and has grown it to become a part of notable fashion events across the country.According to a Grand View Research report, the global jewelry market size was valued to be over $278 billion in 2018. The report also revealed that the figures are expected to continue rising in the coming years. However, many of the market products are generic and fail to pass any message, which is where Dede Reelia Kouevi Anani is looking to make a difference with Unique By Reelia.
Unique By Reelia combines exclusivity with affordability, offering inspirational jewelry pieces that tell African stories from an African perspective. The journey began with turning a $1 Christmas ornament into an earring. Reelia and her amazing handmade pieces have duly represented Africa in several A-list shows, including Black Fashion Week Montréal, Fest Africa 2014, African Fashion Week DC, and Ankara Fashion Week Miami. The self-taught jewelry designer has been featured on She Leads Africa and has also done a few campaigns with Africa Give Back Gala Organization featuring Jidenna as well as collaborations with celebrity designers like Lavie By CK and Timy Ajulo.
Dede Reelia Kouevi Anani is set to unveil another collection of creative masterpieces on December 27th during the Afromaha Fashion Week. This year’s event will be streamed live on YouTube due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic. The new line, like every other collection from Unique By Reelia is inspired by African music, African print, the rich culture of the black continent. She will also be adding resin artwork to the collection, which is part of her new project.
