This year, with the theme of “A Cultural Tour of Beautiful China”, the race will inherit the previous traditions, promoting Chinese traditional culture to the world. Tour of China aims to spreadthe profound Chinese culture with a history of over five thousand years from multiple perspectives. It reveals folk customs of various regions throughout the race, and present cultural heritage, further enhancing cultural confidence. Therefore, theorganizing committee makes every effort in routearrangement, team selection, security and other aspects so that more cities could benefit from the race and people may experience the unique charm of Chinese culture.
The race will last for 16 days, involving five provinces namely Hebei, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou and Sichuan. Going through China No.1 Scenic Avenue in Weichang, Chengde, Tour of China will pass by eight cities, including Huangshi economic develop zone, Tieshan District, Zhijiang in Yichang, Nanxian in Hunan, Ningyuan and Jianghua in Yongzhou, Anshun, Mingshan in Ya’an. There are 11 stages, covering competition distance of 1104.4 km. The race compromises a broad area, which encourages the sufficient participation of various cities, ethnic groups and domains throughout the route. Also, the deep integration of sports and tourism generate national unity.
There are 132 participants from 22 domestic and foreign teams. The champion of TOC I and TOC II will be awarded with Tourof China Trophy which is released for the first time. In addition, the 2019 race is a significant qualifying of Tokyo Olympic Games, offering the national team a golden opportunity for practice. The highleveland quality are proven.
Tour of China attracts tremendous attention throughout the years. It advanced the development of this sport since more and more people become cycling lovers. The race not only popularizes the sport culture but also accelerates the consumption in this industry, benefiting the sponsors.
