CDMaker celebrates 25th anniversary of opening and competes with national groups.

While the last few years have seen many duplication operations close, CDMaker, a CD and DVD duplication and replication service hailing from Austin TX and serving all of North America, celebrates its 25th birthday in May 2013.

CDmaker originally opened up shop in May 1988 with a small family loan. In the years that passed from the original conception of only serving the music industry, the business was moved to Austin, shifted from cassette and VHS duplication to compac disc and DVD offerings, and competes with the big boys nationally.

"I truly count myself fortunate that thanks to my clients, I've been able to beat the odds and be around this long," said CDMaker's founder and owner, Carolyn Holzman.

"We compete daily with national Goliaths and I play the David in the story with my own sling shot and maybe just a little bit enjoying that underdog part."

"I love saying that CDMaker is 'Tiny But Mighty,' we are truly big enough to handle anything and small enough to care about it. Its a lot more than just generating revenue, its about creating a process where the expertise and knowledge of how to do something can be harnessed to benefit even the smallest of organizations, that independent struggling artist or label that needs to compete themselves in the same role of David against the Goliaths of the music industry. I mean, these musicians do not have the budget to reprint their digipak because they didn't know how to do or to ask for what they wanted especially when it comes to printing. We offer live people and have the courage to tell them that they may not want what they asked for."

Walking into CDMaker's office, its easy to see that they can accomplish any possible packaging for a CD or DVD. On their walls range options from the plastic jewel cases to cardboard sleeves, digipaks (a combination of paper and plastic) on up to boxed sets of DVDs with printed boxes they routinely see in stores and on Amazon.

This year CDMaker has released an app for smartphones that can be accessed by going to http://cdmaker.mobi.. It is through this app that they are publishing any specials - info on CD duplication smartphone app.
