Jason Kulpa, CEO of UE.co, is pleased to announce the winner of The Jason Kulpa Entrepreneur Scholarship, the fourth winner in this series of scholarships. This year’s winner is Mayra Flores, a student at Carthage College and a budding entrepreneur.Qualified applicants were asked to write a 500-word essay addressing how education will prepare them for the challenges of earning an independent living. Flores won the scholarship after describing how she has learned to work with failure and reassess where she went wrong to learn and grow from these experiences.
Flores, a biology major at Carthage College, plans on focusing her entrepreneurial efforts in the medical field and intends to pursue a medical degree. She has been inspired by her professors who have frequently discussed the great opportunities to get involved and make an impact in her community.
Jason Kulpa created the Entrepreneur Scholarship to provide financial support to students with entrepreneurial dreams at a time when the cost of pursuing higher education is rising.
"My goal is to empower outstanding innovators who are determined to start and grow a business of their own," said Jason Kulpa. "I wish Mayra the best of luck with the rest of her collegiate career and look forward to seeing how her entrepreneurial endeavors develop and evolve.”
Flores is passionate about the future of her field and plans on utilizing the funds from this scholarship to buy books and pay for next semester’s tuition.
