TRUBlanket, an upscale weighted blanket that got its start on the popular crowdfunding site, Kickstarter, recently announced the launch of a greatly expanded product line. The new products include an expansion of new styles, colors, and weights. Removable duvet covers to be sold separately are also part of this rollout.
TRUBlanket’s creators say they are responding to the market demands. At the conclusion of both of the successful crowdfunding campaigns, the TRUBlanket team reached out to buyers and potential customers to ask what they wanted to be able to buy in the future. The survey results indicated that people were interested in a variety of colors, sizes, and price points. There was also a strong interest in replacement or supplemental duvet covers for TRUBlanket. Jason Spahr, CEO of TRU Lite Home, says, “We’re optimistic about this product line because it’s what the public asked for. We’ve done a lot of work on our core values and one of those is fanatical service. Reaching more people means listening to what they want and delivering. We’re proud to do that. ”
The current TRUBlanket is being rebranded as the LUX option. This 60”x80” set has an inner blanket with a cooling 400 thread count cotton fabric, and an outer duvet in a minky soft microfiber. This blanket has embroidery at the corner with the word “Happiness” on the bottom corner. It comes in 15 and 20 pounds.
The mid-tier TRUBlanket is dubbed the “Premium.” It is in a smaller size, 48”x72”, and comes in 12, 15 or 20 pound weights. The inner blanket has a double-sided smooth micropeach, and the duvet is the same minky plush as the LUX. The embroidery on the corner features the word “Peace” for navy, gray, and beige options and “Love” for the white blanket.
The newly available products also include a “TRUBlanket Lite” version in 12 and 15 pounds at a lower price point. This blanket opens up TRUBlanket to a wider market for those who are not interested in a high-end luxury blanket. Unlike the Premium and LUX categories, this weighted blanket is not a set, but a standalone blanket. It features one side that is a smooth micropeach and a soft ultraplush reverse side.
Lastly, the rollout includes new weighted blanket covers for all sizes of TRUBlanket. They come in navy, beige, white, and the original gray color with corresponding embroidery. They can be used with any matching TRUBlanket.
TRUBlanket’s new line can be found at the TRU Lite website and will be available at online outlets and local retailers later on in the year.
