The renovations come after the pub was purchased by leading hotelier Steve Hammond. The vision for the pub going forward is to create a range of functional yet practical spaces with a casual, friendly atmosphere throughout.
The Stock Hotel promotes social distancing away from home…keeping 2-3 metres away from others when a person is out. The Stock Hotel ensures social distancing is practical on its premises by limiting numbers and encouraging safe behaviour.
There are now several distinct areas within the pub to increase its appeal to a broader audience and ensure it offers something for everyone. It now comprises of a pub, restaurant, sports bar, gaming room and function room for hire.
Additionally, a brand-new beer garden has been opened to make use of the space outside. Utilising the space outside not only allows customers to make the most of the areas inside and outside, it has provided an extra space for entertainment including live bands.
The second stage of the major refurbishments and improvements are designed to further upgrade the settings to benefit its existing customers and to attract new customers in and around the Toowoomba area. The renovations will also help the pub to become a tourist destination.

Increasing business at the pub will be of benefit to the wider community and will help to keep Toowoomba on the map. Aside from attracting tourists who will support the local economy, the pub is providing employment opportunities for residents and is a hub of community life.
A company spokesperson said of the renovations, “This is a great opportunity for The Stock Hotel and the good people of Toowoomba. Community is at the heart of many pubs around Australia and we’re no different.”
They continued, “We want to offer a casual, space where people of all ages can come and drink while practicing social distancing. We limit our numbers in accordance with the new government regulations and recommend patrons stay 2-3 metres apart which is especially easy in the new outdoor beer garden. Couples and families who live together can sit close together if they choose to.”
