Tidewater Prepares To Welcome Fall Golfers to Myrtle Beach With Pristine Greens

Pristine Greens will continue to welcome golfers to Myrtle Beach's premier golf course. The Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach South Carolina has had rave reviews.

Acclaimed Layout is Receiving Rave Reviews as Peak Season Nears

Cherry Grove, S.C. – The greens at Tidewater Golf Club are as good as any along the Myrtle Beach golf scene as the peak fall season approaches, and that’s not an accident.

When Tidewater closed for a six-month renovation project in 2014, the primary goal was the restoration and future health of the acclaimed layout’s greens. The installation of miniverde Bermuda grass and new drainage, combined with the decision to purchase greens covers, have helped the course deliver on that promise.

Despite an unusually challenging winter, Tidewater enjoyed good conditions throughout the spring and summer and golfers have taken note.

“Tidewater delivered again!,” Las Vegas resident Jeff M said in a 5-star TripAdvisor review. “All in all a great experience at a wonderful facility and golf course.”

The assessment was representative of the Tidewater experience as the course has earned an average rating of 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor, based on 169 reviews. Eighty-nine percent of the course’s reviews have been very good or excellent, with excellent being the overwhelming choice of most golfers.

“We believe Tidewater is one of America’s top 100 public courses, and we are committed to providing conditions that are the equal of the design,” said Chris Cooper, Tidewater’s general manager. “We are looking forward to a busy fall season and having golfers enjoy one of South Carolina’s prettiest layouts.”

The experience at Tidewater is highlighted by eight holes that play along either Cherry Grove or the Intracoastal Waterway, including the par 5 13th, which offers a distant view of the Atlantic Ocean.

The third and 12th holes, both par 3s that play along Cherry Grove, are the Grand Strand’s prettiest combination of one-shotters. The fourth hole, an unforgettable par 4, features a gentle dogleg left, and one of the Grand Strand’s most stunning approach shots to a green buffeted by the salty waters of Cherry Grove.

The inland holes, featuring a devilish short par 4 on each side, are no less enjoyable, and they complete a layout that became the first ever named best new course in America by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine upon its opening.
