Stevie Nicks just announced that she and The Pretenders are going on tour. One ticket seller predicts the shows will soon be sold out.

Stevie Nicks, best known for her role as lead singer in Fleetwood Mac, has just surprised the music world by announced that she and the Pretenders are joining forces and embarking on a North American tour.

“This is exciting news,” says a spokesman from Concert Bank, an online third party ticket seller. “And we don’t expect the Stevie Nicks tickets to last very long.”

The tour is scheduled to begin on October 25 and run until December 18. Things kick off on October 25 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Sticks Resort Arena and wind down on December 18 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Nicks and The Pretenders will mostly stick to North American concert venues, with a few Canadian exceptions.

When asked about why she scheduled the tour, she told the New York Times, “I just woke up one morning and said, I have two years o before Fleetwood Mac comes knocking on my door. Why would I want to sit around and do nothing?”

That’s great news for Stevie Nicks fans because the tour will highlight her 2014 album “24-Karat Gold-Songs from the Vault.” The album features some newly recorded material, as well as some previously unreleased songs. The Pretenders have not released a new album since 2008, but it’s lead singer Chrissie Hynde did release a solo album titled, “Stockholm” the same year Nicks released hers.

“This is one of those tours that makes big news and that usually causes a shortage in tickets,” says the spokesman. “And the closer it gets to the tour kick off, the harder it will be to find tickets.” He recommends that fans get their tickets early to avoid the disappointment that comes when a show is sold out.

Nicks also made news recently when she appeared on Bon Iver’s new release as an uncredited singer. He included a backstage recording of her spontaneously singing “Wild Heart,” while being made up for a show. Nicks specifically requested not to be included in the linear notes, and Bon Iver respected it..
