SPI Sessions got its start when Founder Aarin Hartwell noticed a growing need for kids and adults to enjoy South Padre Island safely through surf camps and lessons, standup paddle boarding lesson and tours, and learning about nature in a kids summer and science camp. Aarin, who grew up in the South Padre Island area, has over 17 years of experience, 8 years of coaching in surfing and standup paddle boarding, and 4 years of pro-level competitive surfing. With prior experience in the South Padre Island surf lesson, standup paddle board lesson and tour, and science camp world, Aarin Hartwell decided to go ahead and start SPI Sessions in 2016.
Aarin Hartwell is quoted saying: “We like to do things to connect with our customers and community. Things like connecting with raving fans through our FB site, sponsoring a FREE Special Needs Surfing Lessons and Clinic each year for our community, organizing a Straw-less Ocean campaign to help keep our beach and environment clean, and releasing these little factoids even after South Padre Island Surf Lesson, Standup Paddle Boarding Lesson, and Science and Nature Camp’s outstanding and rewarding summer are what make all the difference.”
