Miami Lakes, Florida – On July 20th, 2018 at an event hosted by Lakes Orthodontics, Mayor Manny Cid, of the Town of Miami Lakes proclaimed July 20th as Lakes Orthodontics Day. It was on this day that the company celebrated its fifth year in business. In this short period, Lakes Orthodontics has become a leading provider of orthodontic services throughout Miami-Dade County and attracts patients as far away as Weston, Fort Lauderdale, and even the Florida Keys.
The practice is the dream of Dr. Carmen Briceño Crespi and her husband and general manager, Alex Crespi. Who together have been able to fulfill the company’s mission of helping children, teens, and adults to “Smile With Confidence”. The Town of Miami Lakes was proud to honor Dr. Crespi, and Lakes Orthodontics with this prestigious honor as both Dr. Crespi and Alex Crespi are longtime residents of Miami Lakes and have grown their practice employing town residents and serving their community. Dr. Crespi has won several awards and honors and is a recipient of the Milo Hellman Award, a prestigious research award from the AAO, which recognizes the most meritorious research paper submitted by a resident in a graduate orthodontics program in the U.S. and Canada. She graduated at the top of her class (Magna Cum Laude) from The University of Florida and was the first board-certified orthodontist to practice in Miami Lakes. She is Board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association as well as an attending faculty member at Miami Children’s Hospital, heading the orthodontic curriculum for the pediatric dental residents.
When asked about receiving the honor from Mayor Cid and the Town of Miami Lakes Dr. Crespi said, “This grand gesture completely humbles us and never in a million years could we have thought that the town where we grew up would be declaring an official day for our family’s office. This is all a testament to the amazing work and dedication that our entire Miami Lakes Orthodontics team does every day to ensure that our patients not only end up with a beautiful smile but also have an amazing experience.”
