The Maids Tampa, a local franchise of the national cleaning services leading company The Maids, is celebrating seven years of working with a local branch of the Ronald McDonald House.As part of their social responsibility program, The Maids Tampa have been participating in the nationwide move to help families who are fighting pediatric diseases, such as cancer, since 2007 when they first agreed to clean the facility pro-bono. In conjunction with two other The Maids franchises in the area, The Maids Tampa have been providing cleaning services to the facility once a month.
According to the Ronald McDonald House of Tampa Bay’s website , the facility provides comfort and care for families with children in need. They provide so called “home-away-from-home” care for the patients, who are getting treatment in Tampa Bay area hospitals. Therefore, their ultimate goal is to recreate a home environment for those families, and clean spaces are an essential part of the homey feel that the Ronal McDonald House is aiming to recreate.
“We are so inspired by the tremendous job that the Ronald McDonlad staff is doing for those children and their families. It is heartbreaking to see those kids fighting their diseases. We don’t do much for those families, but I think that having a bedroom that is clean and healthy is contributing to that homey feeling that the House is trying to create,” said Kelly Jacobs, owner of The Maids Tampa franchise.
In fact, healthy cleaning has always been The Maids’ focus. Not only do they use state-of-the-art equipment that removes allergens from the air, which is beneficial to those children who are undergoing extensive treatment and are sensitive pollutants in the air, but they also use eco-friendly solutions.
