The Geniad Network have announced that it will launch in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland before the end of 2014. The company has been focussing on developing its international reach this year and a move into these Nordic markets, where RTB (Real Time Bidding) technology is getting more and more popular, is driving its European growth.RTB (Real Time Bidding) technology, which is used by Geniad, has been continually revolutionizing the online advertising industry over the last couple of years. RTB software allows websites ad-inventory to be offered to thousands of premium advertisers simultaneously in an online-auction.
The way it works is pretty simple, an auction takes place every time a web user loads a page with advertising code installed, then advertisers bid in real time to place their ads. The highest bidder wins and gets the chance to display its ads on the website in question, a process that takes a just few milliseconds.

The overall RTB market in Europe is doing exceptionally well. Latest reports state a spending growth of 16% from Q2 2014 to Q3 2014 and a growth rate of over 200% from Q3 2013 to Q3 2014. In particular, the mobile and tablet ad inventory has been growing massively with rates around 591% growth for mobile and 385% for tablet over the last year alone. The future suggests that focus will be on CPM as prices continue to grow - CPM saw a rate of 21% growth over the last year, whereas CTR lost 7%.
One of the main advantages of a publisher network with RTB technology compared to a traditional in-house sales team is that they require zero financial investment and no upfront fees. Google Adsense for instance is the biggest network in the world because there are no strings attached when using it. Google Adsense, Geniad and many others make its very easy to sign up and implement and just as easy to opt out by simply removing the code from a user’s website if things aren’t working out.
