Tacoma based auto repair shop Courtesy Auto Service and Tire has improved and upgraded both equipment and training related to the specialized repair of European import autos such as Mercedes, Audi, BMW, VW, and Mini.

Courtesy Auto Service and Tire of Tacoma, Washington has upgraded the equipment it uses to diagnose and service import and European automobiles such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, VW, and Mini. The specific upgrades include diagnostic equipment and software manufactured by Autel and Snap-on.

Some of the upgrades have been featured on a page specifically about import repairs on the company website.

“We have upgraded our Euro specific software and equipment quite a bit,” says Scott Welsh, owner of Courtesy. “The upgrades will assist our techs with fast, accurate diagnosis and repairs.”

In addition to the equipment, Welsh says that his technicians have undergone extensive “euro import specific” training and certification, including high level driveability training, electrical diagnosis, and direct fuel injection training.

“The upgraded equipment, combined with the higher level training, means we can diagnose problems with these sophisticated automobiles more quickly and accurately than ever,” Welsh says. “This means the customer gets in and out faster, and we complete the repairs exactly right the first time, something our customers have told us is very important to them.”

In addition, the shop has added a new high end battery charger from Snap-on. According to Welsh, “The new charger enables a technician to maintain a very consistent power supply and life while flash programming a vehicle, which is crucial in order to assure quality.”

Other equipment upgrades at the shop, many of which allow for improved Euro- and import capabilities, include a Hoffman Geoliner alignment machine, a Hoffman Monty 330 tire machine, a state-of-the-art Coats Vero V200 wheel balance machine, and a smoke machine enabling advance diagnosis.

Of the changes, Welsh adds, “We really can do more than many other repair shops, not only as far as repair and diagnostics are concerned, but also with tires and alignment. Plus, we use OEM parts. That’s why more and more import owners are trusting us with their cars.”

In 2015, Courtesy Auto Service was selected by TireReview Magazine as one of only four nationwide finalists in its annual TopShop Award contest.
