A Las Vegas cleaning company is offering a how-to course online for people who want to get into the maids business.
The course is geared for persons with little or no experience in business. The curriculum is self-paced and leads students through the steps required to get a cleaning business up and running.
“We started with $1000 and absolutely zero experience,” explains Founder and CEO Elena Ledoux. “We knew very little about business and the only cleaning we had done was our own homes. And there was already a lot of competition here.”
Despite being new to the home cleaning market and to entrepreneurship, Superb Maids grew to 49 employees and $105,000 per month in revenue in just two years. The company’s net income is $25,000 per month.
“The key to success of any startup is hustle, going the extra mile, and making things right when things go south,” says Ledoux. “You have to be aggressive about promoting your company, you have to over deliver every time you service a client, and you do whatever it takes to keep that client happy.”
The cleaning course is divided into two sections. The first section is a kind of business-in-a-box. The startup kit includes forms and documents students can download and use right away.
The second section of the course is a series of recorded presentations of Ledoux sharing her personal experience with different facets of running a maids business. Topics range from recommended tools, supplies and cleaning techniques to advertising, workflow management and customer service.
“The real intent behind the course is to give people the opportunity to succeed in this business. Being your own boss is very rewarding,” says Ledoux. “You have more autonomy over your schedule, your earning power, and how you want to make a difference in the community. It’s all about boosting quality of life.”
