Frames Conservatories Direct has defied convention in the Suffolk Windows and Doors market with the inclusion of Solidor, the timber cored, composite door into the companies comprehensive showroom in Bury St Edmunds. Further information can be found at www.fcd-home.co.uk

Earlier today, Frames Conservatories Direct finally announced a selection of the new Solidor range of composite doors is on display in the companies comprehensive showroom in Bury St Edmunds. The new all ‘timber cored’ door is a class act when it comes to adding security to any home.

Steve Savage, Business Development Manager at Frames Conservatories Direct, says: “We wanted to try something new with Solidor. Anyone familiar with the Home Improvement market will probably have noticed how everyone else seems to fit standard composite doors. The problem is, due to the fact the standard composite doors are foam filled, there is not a substantial core to prevent the would be thief from breaching the doors core and gaining entry”.

Fitted with The Avantis Lock which is exclusive to Solidor and has recently been subject to the very highest testing procedures at a UKAS accredited Test Centre. According to the testing house at Mila it was ‘the strongest composite door yet tested’ thanks to the hardware and the fact that the Solidor slab is a solid timber core, rather than a foam filled GRP door that other manufacturers use. This new lock provides the largest and strongest hook and bolt system in the door sector. Like many features from Solidor, this new locking mechanism carries the market’s first 25mm triangulated dead bolt, which makes for greater compression and security on a closed door. Another key feature is the deadlock, which also operates from the action of lifting the handle, rather than a key turn.

Steve Savage went on to say “We want to give our customers absolute piece of mind, knowing they are as secure in their home as it was possible to make them. With Solidor, they have a fresh new possibility. We want them to feel relaxed inside their homes knowing that the solidor is as secure a door as they could fit”.

Frames Conservatories Direct has been in business for 14 years, being established in 2001. Since Day 1 it has always aimed to stand out from the crowd, while also providing its customers the best possible experience at the best possible value.
