Stryker Pest Control, a Columbus-based extermination company, has recently announced on its Facebook page their latest holiday initiative of free bed bug extermination for families in need. This effort is also supported by Reed’s Pest Control Company, which will actively participate in the so-called “Holiday Hugs Instead of Bugs” program.The program targets families in need that suffer from bed bugs. As bed bug infestations continue to spread and grow throughout the country, the National Pest Management Association reports nearly 30 percent of those living in urban areas have encountered bed bugs. Therefore, both companies felt like it was important to address this issue for families that don’t have the means to improve their situation, especially during the holiday season.
Throughout the month of December, Stryker Pest Control and Reed’s control will provide free bed bug extermination services to selected residents in Columbus and Central Ohio. Applications are accepted via email strykerpestcontrol@yahoo.com and require information on the applicant’s full name, contact information, and a detailed explanation of their problem and why they are a good fit for the program.
“We enjoy being able to give back. This is the second year Stryker Pest has run this program, and we are happy to have Reed’s Pest on with us this year. We do intend to conduct this program annually,” said official representative of Stryker Pest Control on their Facebook page.
The deadline for applications is December 6, 2014, as both companies prefer to finish extermination treatments a week before Christmas, so, according to Stryker Pest Control’s official representative, “families may enjoy each other’s company without worrying about bed bugs.”
