As a successful businessperson and bestselling author, Steven has spoken to over 2000 audiences in 16 countries on 7 continents. He is also an educator, a business coach, and a much-sought-after keynote speaker.
Seeing him today, one cannot help but think that he was always this good. However, that’s not the case as there was a time when Steven too was left utterly disappointed when life intervened to shatter his lifelong dreams, making him depressed and questioning what it all meant.
Steven loved sports, emerging as a star high school football player, and a successful wrestler at Rice lake High School, in Wisconsin. He had always dreamt of following his passion of becoming a professional athlete, working overtime to be the best that he could be, preparing himself for the journey that lay ahead when tragedy struck.
At just age 16, and in his high school sophomore year, Steven Lloyd suffered a severe football-related injury to his leg that required surgery and six weeks of hospitalization. His total recovery took over a year before he was better. However, even though the pain went away, that injury left a deeper emotional scar. Steven Lloyd’s dream of playing college and perhaps professional sports were gone, forever.
Getting such a jolt at such a young age can be life-shattering for anyone, and even though he stumbled into depression, Steven Lloyd always had a fighting spirit inside of him that forced him not to keep trying. So, he began his journey towards becoming the successful person he is today by following a life lesson that has always served him well, i.e., “In every adversity, come the seeds of an equal or greater benefit.”
This approach redefined his outlook towards life from that point forward, and it was even further solidified when he stumbled upon Napoleon Hill’s famous book, “Think & Grow Rich.” The book’s main theme expanded on the same lines as Steven’s new thinking patterns, and from then on, he devoured one self-help book after another, inspired to achieve something big with his life.
And as they say, “What you think so as shall you become.” Steven Lloyd entered and passed the Life Underwriters Training Academy and graduated with a LUTCF designation, leading to a successful career in the financial services industry.
But he didn’t stop there as he explored opportunities in the real estate arena, earning his General Real Estate Broker’s license from the Wisconsin Real Estate Examining Board.
He went on to serve on numerous high profile positions in the industry like serving as the Western Regional Vice President for the Realtor’s National Marketing Institute while he developed two different ventures of his own, Northwest Realty Company and Better Home Builders Corp, in his hometown of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, earning numerous awards and recognitions along the way.
Even after achieving all that success on his own, Steven Lloyd still wanted to do more, but this time, he wanted his work to help others in their journeys by allowing them to learn from his vast array of experiences.
His first book, “Selling From The Heart” is a book that revealed the cause of the sale, which is emotion. This was the first time anyone had discovered and disclosed this secret. This work catapulted his speaking and business coaching career to worldwide success. Even now, he is working on teaching business owners and professionals the secrets of success and how to master technology to grow their businesses.
At the age when most people are looking to slow down, Steven Lloyd is adding new ways to reach out to help people. He has coined the phrase, “Be a Go-Giver, not a Go-Getter.” He is a living example of being that “Go-Giver.”
