Starplex Cinemas announces new movie theatre opening this fall in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
— Lewisville, Texas: Starplex Cinemas announced today its plans to open a new luxury theatre in fall of 2014 at Castle Hills Marketplace, a planned community/regional-draw shopping center located at the southwest corner of SH-121 and Josey Lane. Castle Hills Marketplace, to be developed by Dallas-based Cencor Realty Services, will be anchored by a 123,000-square-foot Kroger Marketplace store.
Starplex Cinemas will feature a premiere luxury movie theatre experience at Castle Hills Marketplace, located at the gateway to Castle Hills, a premier, award-winning 2,500-acre master-planned community and designed to serve the trade area that includes Lewisville, The Colony, Carrollton and more. Theatre amenities will include 100% digital projection, Real-D 3D, spacious luxury seating, and a full-service bar with expanded theatre dining options. One auditorium will debut Starplex’s large-format screen, IDX (Intense Digital Experience), along with the immersive sound of “Auro 11.1” by Barco, which gives patrons the most realistic cinema experience with three layers of sound. “Moviegoers will feel the action on screen like never before!” says Traci Hoey, Marketing Director for Starplex Cinemas. “This new location will provide the community with an amazing theatre experience. The residents in The Colony and Lewisville will have a neighborhood theatre of their own, with a premium luxury atmosphere.”
David Palmer, executive vice president in charge of development for Cencor, noted that the theatre is a great addition to Castle Hills Marketplace. “With Kroger Marketplace and Starplex Cinemas as anchors, this center is generating incredible interest from great retail and restaurant concepts. We are well on our way to creating a new retail environment that will rank as one of the strongest retail destinations in the trade area.”
