St Thomas boat rental company, Beach Bum Boat Rentals, has added a 26' power catamaran boat to its rental boat fleet in the U.S. & British Virgin Islands.

St Thomas and St John (U.S. Virgin Islands), is a popular place to rent a boat to go island hopping. Since U.S. citizens don’t need a passport to explore the U.S. Virgin Islands, it’s very easy for Americans to get out and explore – especially those visiting by cruise ship. U.S. citizens wishing to explore the British Virgin Islands, however, will need passports, even for a day trip.

While most boat rental or charter companies on the Islands are “owner operated” and offer just one type of boat. Beach Bum Boat Rentals offers a wide variety of boats to choose from, depending on the number of passengers in a group, the age group, and the budget.

“The 26' power cat is a great boat, offering a nice, smooth ride and economical trip for 1-6 people” says Brian Woeller, with Beach Bum Boat Rentals. “This particular 26' power cat gets you to all the beautiful Virgin Islands, and saves you about $100 over other boats in her class,” Woeller added.

St John and St Thomas are very popular wedding and cruise ship destinations, and renting a boat on St Thomas is one of the most popular excursions people plan to do. The Virgin Islands are unique in that there are so many islands so close together. Even on a cruise ship schedule, most groups can see 3-4 Islands, and spend a decent amount of time on each in one day trip.

“We rent boats quite a lot in St Thomas, as we have a time share condo there and visit often. This last time we only had a few people in our group, so we got the 26' power cat. It was a great day, smooth ride, and we had a few extra dollars for painkillers at The Soggy Dollar Bar,” said Ken Ware, a Beach Bum Boat Rentals customer.

Rental pricing on the 26' power cat is $500 per day, plus a $150 captain fee, plus fuel. British Virgin Islands customs fees (approximately $45 per person) are additional.
