SportsTicketBank announces a new sports venue series that highlights the nation's most exciting places to see a game.

Sports Ticket Bank, an online sports ticket seller has just announced that Wrigley Field is the first addition to their new collection of sporting venues that are “must visits”. A spokesman from the company says “Sometimes a venue can be just as exciting as seeing your favorite team play. That’s why we’ve selected Wrigley Field as one of the most exciting and memorable sports venues in the country.”

Set in the West Addison district of Chicago and built in 1914, Wrigley Field is the oldest National League ballpark, and the second oldest active major league ballpark in the country. With a 41,000 seating capacity, it is the latest venue to be selected by SportsTicketBank and will play host to over forty Chicago Cubs games during the 2015 calendar. Being the last major league park to have lights installed for play after dark, Wrigley Field is a firm favorite with fans and players alike.

The venue has also seen a lot of history since being established in the early 1900’s as it was the home for the Chicago Bears for a 49 year period between 1921 and 1970. The Cubs had to move to a larger stadium for the 1971 season because there was simply not enough room to accommodate the 60,000 fans that came to see the games. But the venue remains a dear piece of history, and many fans relish watching the Cubs play in the stadium. Wrigley Field also hosted the second annual National Hockey League Winter Classic between the Chicago Blackhawks andthe Detroit Red Wings on January 1, 2009.

Another key reason for including Wrigley Field as part of the Venue Series for 2015 is because of the $575 million renovations investment by the new owners, the Ricketts family, which has already begun. Over the course of the next five years Wrigley Field is set to undergo vast improvements to several areas of the ground which include the stadium’s facade, infrastructure, restrooms, concourses, suites, press box, bullpens, and clubhouses, as well as the addition of restaurants, patio areas, batting tunnels, and a 5,700-square-foot jumbotron. Additionally, a hotel is also set to be built adjacent to the ground as well as a plaza and office retail complex.

Accessibility to the field has gone unchanged and is still as straight forward, with residential streets, bars, and restaurants encompassing the outer perimeter of the grounds. Rooftop seating at buildings adjacent to the Wrigley Field outfield remain an anomaly to major league baseball and ads to the historic ambiance of the venue.

From June 25 until the close of the season on September 23, Chicago Cubs fans and neutral spectators alike can book Wrigley Field game tickets for any of the games by going to SportsTicketBank.com. Additionally, some Wrigley Field concert ticket events are scheduled for Wrigley Field this year too.
