The New Earth Institute Of Southwestern College Releases The Workshop Schedule For The 33rd Annual Transformation And Healing Conference.

The 33rd Annual Transformation and Healing Conference, presented by The New Earth Institute of Southwestern College, is scheduled to take place from August 20th – 24th in Santa Fe, NM. This highly-regarded event is a continual source of continuing education for many of the region’s counselors, psychotherapists, and art therapists, and the focus for this year is “Consciousness and Compulsivity.” The schedule for the conference, which was recently released, includes a number of workshops that expand on this theme and offer valuable opportunities for attendees to expand their available methods for dealing with matters of addiction, sexuality, trauma and more.

“We’ve got a fantastic group of presenters for this year’s conference,” says Dr. James Nolan, President of Southwestern College. “Their backgrounds provide a wealth of knowledge from which counselors and art therapists are sure to benefit.”

Six workshops will be held each day Wednesday August 20th through Friday August 22nd. Among the 18 workshops are topics including: Healing Addiction Through Ceremony, Psyche and Eros: Romance Addiction, Individuation and Love, and The Good That Is Seeking You From Within. On Saturday August 23rd Dr. John Bradshaw will present the keynote presentation “Spirituality, Sexuality, and Addiction: The Dynamics of Shame” and the conference will close with a second keynote on Sunday August 24th when Lee Cartwright will present “Breaking Free of Addictive Relationships”

“Our team at The New Earth Institute has once again done an incredible job at putting together a conference that offers practical training that addresses many of the issues that counselors and therapists are faced with in their work,” concludes Nolan. “We expect that attendees will be able to use the skills they learn for years to come, on an everyday basis. I would say we have become increasingly practically minded as an institution.”
