The New Earth Institute Of Southwestern College announces the workshop schedule for the 32nd annual Transformation and Healing Conference.

The Transformation and Healing Conference has been one of the core community offerings from Southwestern College since 1981. It provides a forum for regionally and nationally known practitioners to share their work, and for the public to benefit from a convocation of wisdom carriers. Each year the conference is based on a different idea, and for the 2013 iteration the focus is “Creative Approaches to the Healing Arts.” In keeping with the theme, classes will explore topics of healing utilizing creativity, and will feature well-known speakers and educators, including: Judy Weiser, Robert Waterman, Robert Weisz and Brian Serna.

“The classes offered this year are at once both diverse in their subject matter, while also encompassing the creative component to healing,” say Dr. Jim Nolan, Southwestern College President. “We feel there is plenty of opportunity for attendees to learn about utilizing something they are passionate about in their practices.”

The conference runs from Wednesday to Sunday. Between Wednesday and Friday, 18 experiential workshops will explore topics such as: Essentials of Transformational Education, Exploring Self Portraits, Creative Pathways, The Psychology of the Night: Creative Participation in Life through Astrology, Healing with Horses, Understanding and Working with Borderline Personality Disorder, Fiction Therapy, Music as Medicine, and more. Saturday’s keynote address by Judy Weiser is “Using Photos to Improve Well-being and Reduce Social Exclusion: A Picture is Worth Far More than a Thousand Words!” and the conference closes on Sunday with Weiser offering “Using Photos to Help People with Addictions: 3-hour Illustrated Presentation, plus Discussion.”
