Songwriter/Producer Mark Siegel Won’t Stop the Music: Finds Ways to Adapt in the Midst of the Pandemic

Software and technology have helped this talented musician continue his contributions to the music world in spite of COVID-19 restrictions.

Nashville, TN – The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on the music industry with the enforced cancellation or postponement of events such as music festivals, concert tours, award shows and even album releases. The situation has left many artists, musicians, songwriters and producers across the globe out of work and desperate to find some source of income simply in order to survive.

Songwriter and record producer Mark Siegel seems to be an exception. With the use of software and technology, he’s been able to continue working with artists all over the world throughout the quarantine from the comfort of his studio in Nashville.

“It’s an absolute tragedy,” says Siegel. “I know that there are many talented musicians out there who are really suffering right now. And unfortunately, it's also hitting the engineers and quite honestly anyone who works in the industry really hard; however I think that we'll begin to see a positive shift in the ways that people consume music; and I only hope that the industry as a whole is ready to make that shift together to help keep songwriters, musicians and touring personnel financially afloat.

“From my perspective, the world has had to find ways to adapt, so we in the music industry should adapt too. We have to find ways to get creative.”

Born and Raised in New Jersey and based in Nashville, Tennessee, Siegel works with artists around the globe, including Jacob Whitesides, Megan Davies, Kane Brown, Danny Gokey, Jackie Castro, Seaforth and many more. His company Static Flight Music Group provides artist development services that include songwriting and production, brand development, tour coordination, live production design and execution, publishing and a great deal more.

Siegel has also been featured in various TV specials and musical compositions both in the U.S and internationally. He was also recently included in a GQ article about TikTok and the evolution of the music industry, entitled ‘Dance Like Everybody’s Watching: Is TikTok A Salve For All We Despise About Social Media?
