Smithfield, PA physical therapy clinic HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness recently named Travis Rummel as Clinical Director of the Smithfield location.
Rummel is an experienced physical therapist who has served as the Assistant Clinical Director at the Morgantown, WV location. He was also the organization’s Site Coordinator of Clinical Education in 2016.

Travis Rummel’s appointment as Clinical Director strengthens the physical therapy practice at the Smithfield clinic. He has been with HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness for more than a decade and is the recipient of the 2008 Clinical Excellence Award by Tidewater Physical Therapy Association. He is a Board-certified specialist in orthopedics and ASTYM® soft tissue regeneration.
Rummel is a native of Belington, WV. During his time as a student athlete at Philip Barbour High School, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and spent significant time in physical therapy—an experience that influenced his career choice.
He is an alumnus of West Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in Athletic Training and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University. He is also a certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist by the American Physical Therapy Association.
His personal interests include spending time with his wife, Sarah and daughters Olivia and Margaret, hiking, trout fishing, and enjoying WVU athletics.
In his new role, Rummel will lead and oversee the clinic’s operations in the areas of orthopedic and sports injury rehabilitation. The Smithfield, PA sports medicine center is staffed by certified athletic trainers, physical therapists, and physical therapy assistants. The clinic offers treatments for chronic pain and neck & back care.
He states, “I am excited for the opportunity to lead our Smithfield Clinic. We have a great staff in place and I am excited to work with them. Together, we look forward to serving the community and providing the best physical therapy services possible.”
