April and May in Portland, is a great time for senior citizens to enjoy fun indoor activities. “Indoor activities do not have to be boring” says Esther. A senior active pass can be purchased for ages 60+ that allow seniors to take all the classes they want at the Charles Jordan Community Center. With the active pass senior citizens also get access to the great fitness facility at the community center. The senior active pass is $19.50 a month for an individual or $29.75/month for couples.

Esther Gheliuc an expert in the Portland Oregon senior care industry offers up a fun idea for seniors interested in a little springtime fun. “Swimming is at the top of my list, senior citizens are prone to health issues and swimming can be a great low impact way to get the exercise they need to stay healthy and happy.” Esther adds that swimming is also a lot of fun and a great way to cool off when summer starts approaching.

The first week of April is bringing with it some great senior classes that are great for anyone interested in socializing, or getting out of the house. Tai Chi is a great activity for seniors to take part in and offers a great low impact workout for all involved. Tai Chi incorporates gentle flowing movements that focus on increasing flexibility, balance, and lung power. Tai Chi is a great way to lower stress, and improve stamina.
