One of the most prestigious language schools in San Diego County, College of English Language has been accredited by the Commission on English Language Accreditation or CEA for short for the period of ten years. In order to attain the accreditation of this institution, schools need to comply with 48 different standards covering every aspect of the school’s functioning. That includes not only the curriculum, but also the HR, finances, and marketing.CEA is the accreditation agency which focuses on post-secondary education and they try to systematize the standards and the requirements for language schools in California, founded in 1999. In 2003, the organization was reorganized by the Federal Secretary of Education into a national accreditation agency, making it the only such institution in the US.
“Getting certified by the CEA is a huge milestone for the College of English Language school of languages. The whole process is so comprehensive and detailed that not a lot of schools actually complete it. We feel that this certification just shows how serious we are about the quality of our classes,” said Patrick Himmelberg, the owner of the College of English Language. He added: ”The evaluation process takes several days with the people from the CEA doing a detailed check of just about every aspect of our business. Our Santa Monica location is still in the process, but College of English Language downtown San Diego and Pacific Beach locations are fully certified.”
