The popular student hair show competition featuring cosmetology students at Cameo College promises another night of creativity and entertainment.
— Beauty school Cameo College is presenting its 7th annual student hair show competition, and this year's theme, "AVANT-GARDE", is highly anticipated.
In preparation of the popular showcase, students are divided into teams with the mission to create a hairstyle based on the theme of the competition. For the 2013 edition, students must concoct and execute unique and original hair designs on models, drawing from their imagination and skill.
Two of the cosmetology program educators, Justin Olsen and Wendy Merrill, will return as hosts of the show. “It’s amazing to watch the journey from that thrilling moment when they are assigned their teams to the finished creation being presented for you,” the hosts revealed.
In addition to being entertained, audience members can participate in a raffle with a full cosmetology scholarship to the beauty school as the grand prize.
The student hair show also benefits local organizations, as proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Center for Women and Children, which provides a safe and supportive living environment for women to successfully transcend substance abuse, addiction and homelessness.
The show will be on Friday, November 22 at 7:30pm at Murray High School. Tickets are $12 at the door, or $10 in advance, and may be purchased at the Esthetics & More Beauty Store at Cameo College of Essential Beauty or by calling (801)747-5706.
